Firefly Music Festival
Delaware Events & Festivals
Whether you’re ready to celebrate your unique heritage, really like live music, or just want to see a pumpkin get launched in the air, the First State is your best bet.
The First State offers a slew of music festivals from the coast to the corner.
The Firefly Music Festival is a summer event held in Dover at The Woodlands. Covering 87 acres, The Woodlands acts as a temporary home to such acts as Tom Petty, Outkast, Foo Fighters, and Weezer.
The northwest corner of the Small Wonder hosts a multitude of cultural events throughout the year.
The annual Italian Festival takes place at the St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in June along with the Greek Festival at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Wilmington also hosts the Polish Festival at the St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church come October.
Speaking of October, the Delaware Sängerbund club presents the Oktoberfest and Christkindlmarkt, in Newark near Bear.
Apple Scrapple Festival
We all know why we look forward to festivals: The food. While the usual fare can be expected at state fairs and block parties, Delaware does it different.
Check out the annual Apple Scrapple Festival in Bridgeville, or the Chocolate Festival at Rehoboth Beach. And held at different spots in Delaware each November, don’t miss the World Championship Punkin Chunkin’.
Special to Delaware
The First State can be a unique place to party thanks to special events throughout Delaware.
Don’t miss the Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddlers' Festival in Rehoboth Beach, the Big August Quarterly in Wilmington, and the Delaware State Fair in Harrington. Wilmington also host the annual Delaware Shakespeare Festival and of course the Wilmington Flower Market.
