Lums Pond State Park
Recreational enthusiasts in northern Delaware have a variety of opportunities for a great day outdoors. Lums Pond State Park encompasses 1,790 acres of land southwest of Bear, and surrounds the 200-acre Lums Pond – the largest freshwater pond in the state.
Launch your boat into the water from the boat ramp or rent a boat, for a fun day of cruising and fishing on Lums Pond. Wear comfortable shoes for walking along the Swamp Forest Trail, stretching 7.5 miles around the pond. The park also features more than 10 miles of multipurpose trails for horseback riding, snowmobiling, hiking, and bicycling.
Try a picnic lunch before starting a game of tennis, disc golf, basketball, or volleyball, and make your way to the Whale Wallow Nature Center to attend one of the programs.
